I'm sailing away

After 48 hours of panic about thunderstorms in the forecast cancelling our sailing tour up the Fjord of Saguenay,  we had such calm winds we didn't make it out of site of the dock for our 3 hour tour. On the upside, that meant the kids got full sailing lessons and they helmed and rigged the boat so well it made my heart proud! Rob got to help too, the captain was very impressed by his Brigantine sailing experience!

Ok, so this isn't actually a picture of us, it's our boat going out into the Fjord for the afternoon tour. But you can imagine it's us.

Harrison at the helm...

Heidi on the port winch...

Brendan sending from the starboard winch...

Looking very comfortable in the cockpit.

Harrison, totally in control (: He asked to be called Commander instead of Captain , so I fear crew mutiny may be in his future.  We had one other passenger on our tour, a lovely lady from Montreal named Paula.

Brendan doing what he does best - steering! Any vehicle will do. The Captain also took him below deck later to show him the engine - possibly the first time on a sailing tour he's had that interested of an audence!

The Commander gets put to work

Heidi takes the helm!

Rob was busy on the lines, but he got some wheel time too...

Finally,  Harrison steered us back to harbour. A fantastic day!
